Fly to Athens
We recommend flying to Athens airport which has the best transport links to Sifnos. There is no airport in Sifnos. The closest airports are located in Milos and Athens.
Milos is the closest destination to Sifnos, only an hour away by ferry, but its small local airport receives only domestic flights from Athens.
On the other hand, the airport of Athens is international and receives both domestic and external flights, but the ferry trip to Sifnos takes from 2 to 3 hours, depending on the vessel.
Ferry to Sifnos
As there is no airport on the island, the only way to travel to Sifnos is by ferry.
There are ferries to Sifnos almost daily from the port of Piraeus in Athens, while there is also a good ferry connection between Sifnos and other islands of Cyclades. The ferry trip from Athens to Sifnos takes from 2 to 3 hours, depending on the vessel and the route.
This ferry also connects Sifnos with other islands of Cyclades, including Milos, Kimolos, Kythnos, Serifos, and others.
Occasionally in high season, there are also ferries to Sifnos from Lavrion, the third-largest port of Athens, located on the southern side of Attica.
